Representatives from across the maritime industry are invited to join us for the annual ISWAN Seminar, which will take place in Mumbai this year.
The theme for the seminar, to be held on Tuesday 19 November 2019, will be 'Working together to protect and promote the mental wellbeing of seafarers'. There is increasing awareness of the issue of seafarers’ mental wellbeing in the maritime industry, but many companies, organisations and individuals are still unsure what to do and who to turn to. Our 2019 Seminar will invite international speakers to provide signposts and practical solutions to all those who are concerned about this issue and want to do something about it.
Presentations by the speakers will be followed by panel discussions and Q&A sessions to give delegates the opportunity to participate and share their thoughts. The seminar will explore topics including: the impact of working at sea on seafarers’ mental wellbeing; learning from other sectors such as the construction industry; social isolation and minorities on board; working together and sharing best practices; and establishing what organisations, companies and governments can do.
Attendance is free and all are welcome. The seminar will be held at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel in Mumbai, India.
